Postcard of the Week: Snow Bath at the Carnival

A few years ago at Le Carnaval de Québec we shivered as these folks braved the cold in their swimsuits. The snow bath is one of the many activities which takes place during North Americas largest winter festival. Other favourite events include the night parade, snow sculptures, canoe races, Bonhomme’s Ice Palace and meeting Bonhomme of course.

The sign on the left reads “La Plage de Bonhomme. L’endroit le plus “HOT à Québec!” — Translation: Bonhomme’s Beach. The “COOLEST” place in Québec!

Carnival starts January 28th! It’s not too late to plan a winter getaway to historic Québec City. We’ve celebrated the Québec’s Winter Carnival many times over the years, so take our word and unlike these bathers, plan to bundle up in your warmest gear when you visit.

Happy festivities!
