OMG you went to Atlin! I lived there for almost 9 years back in the 80’s. It’s an amazing town in a stunning setting.
Wow, Alison, nine years in such a spectacular setting — yet I imagine the winters can be challenging? Our visit was short, but we instantly loved the towns vibe and impressive setting. I look forward when I can hike again, starting with Monarch Mountain:)
I’ve climbed Monarch more than once. And yes the winters were challenging, but there’s nothing quite like being able to put your skis on at the door of your cabin and ski for uninterrupted miles. The lake freezes so we’d often ski on the lake. On a sunny day it was spectacular!
